A widow belonging to the Scheduled Caste has accused a person from a community of raping her by claiming to be a Brahmin. When the police did not register the victim’s complaint, the victim approached the court. The court has ordered the Hathras Gate police station to register a First Information Report and investigate the matter. It is also alleged that the widow is about three and a half months pregnant.
A woman resident of a locality in Thana Sasni area had filed an application in the court of Special Judge (SC-ST Act) Rampratap Singh. She alleged that she is a widow of Scheduled Caste. On 20 January 2023, at around 2 pm, she was waiting near Talab Chauraha to go to Mathura. Then a car stopped and she boarded it for Mathura.
On the way, a driver asked for her mobile phone saying that his mobile has fallen somewhere and she should call on that number. She gave her phone and made the call. After that, at around 6 in the evening, the victim received a call on her phone. The caller introduced himself as a Brahmin and asked her to meet him. She went to meet him and introduced him to her children.
It is alleged that on January 1, 2024, at around 8 pm, the accused reached near the victim’s house, called her and made her sit in his Eco car. While coming from Sasni to Hathras, the accused raped her despite her refusal, due to which she became pregnant. When she talked about complaining to the police, the man took her to his house in Hathras. Then the victim came to know that he did not belong to a Hindu but to another community. When the victim talked about marriage at the accused person’s house, his mother, wife, his uncle, brother talked about converting their religion and getting her married. They said that they would not marry her if she did not convert her religion.
